Course Description: Manufacturing, Properties and Tests of metals, aggregate, cementing materials, fresh and hardened PC concrete, asphalt concrete, masonry, wood and plastics. Design and production of PC concrete and asphalt mixtures. Computer applications in mix design.

Pre-requisite: CE–202  Strength of Materials.

  7. Design combined aggregate (Blending of aggregate),
  8. Recognize manufacturing, types, and utilization of cementing materials (Asphalt and Portland cements)
  9. Describe physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of cementing materials (emphasis on Asphalt  and Portland cements).
  10. Recognize manufacturing, types, and utilization of Portland cement concrete,
  11. Describe physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of fresh and hardened concrete,
  12. Recognize factors affecting durability of Portland cement concrete.
  13. Design of Portland cement concrete mixtures.
  14. Recognize manufacturing, types, and utilization of hot mixed asphalt HMA.
  15. Recognize manufacturing, types, and utilization of masonry, tiles, wood, and plastics.
  16. Describe physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of masonry, tiles, wood, and plastics
  17. Practice long life learning through identifying new course topics, locating sources of information, and reporting the results.
